Bunny And The Bull

Show me a fan of Garth Marenghi's Darkplace (2004) and the Mighty Boosh (2004-2007) and I will show you a frustrated fan of British comedy. Both programs received strong support in the UK and gained cult followings in the United States after being aired on the Cartoon Network's late night adult swim programming block. Outlandish, imaginative and unlike anything I had ever seen before, both programs come highly recommended, but are also sadly lacking in new material. Despite a campaign to launch a follow-up to Darkplace, only a spin-off Man to Man with Dean Learner (also recommended) while Mighty Boosh has been on hiatus since its third series.

Imagine my surprise at finding the talent involved in many of my favorite British comedies have been involved in a feature film!

Starring Edward Hogg, Simon Farnaby, VerĂ³nica Echegui, Noel Fielding, Richard Ayoade and Julian Barratt, Bunny and the Bull is like a best of the best in British comic performers. The film was directed and written by Paul King, the man behind the wildly successful cult program Mighty Boosh.

This is King's first film, but based on the rave reviews, hopefully it will not be his last.

I haven't seen any news on distribution of this movie in theaters or DVD across the pond, but perhaps interest can be generated online that could result in a USA release.

(special thanks to John Caples for sending me the trailer)
