Channeling the later pinup styles of the 1950s, this Cherry Pinup Bikini from Pinup Couture is a piece that's guaranteed to knock 'em dead.

The halter top, with tie detailing at the bust, accentuates the curves to help create that killer hourglass silhouette. Tile Print Dress from Warehouse

Posted: 17 May 2011 09:45 AM PDT

Tiledress

The late sixties and seventies saw a huge influence of Eastern and African influence making waves in the fashion world, with the use of prints and colour palettes gaining a whole new exoticism. This Tile and Stripe Print Dress from Warehouse is a cool ode to that era, creating a look with lots of seventies inspiration.

The dress structure is simple but effective, with a loose fit around the shoulders and bust thanks to the backless cut. This simplistic draping creates a real seventies luxury, while also allowing the complicated print to look classic and uncluttered. The tile print takes an African influence and adds some Western modernity thanks to a summery colour palette and the silk fabric finish.

It's available from Warehouse now for £65.

eBay watch: Juliette spy briefcase with reel-to-reel recorder

Posted: 17 May 2011 09:44 AM PDT

Brief

Fancy setting yourself up as a sixties secret agent? We have just the thing to get you started, this Juliette spy briefcase with reel-to-reel recorder.

It is spy kit from 'back in the day', working via mains or battery (although the former might be a giveaway) and looking like our average briefcase from the outside. But inside is that reel-to-reel tape recorder, which works with a microphone for covert recordings.

A strange thing - and not something you'll see again in a hurry. £6.15 is the current price. Lots more images on the site.

The Pukeberg Glass Factory in Sweden was founded way back in the 1970s, but it's the designs from the 1960s that interest us the most, such as this Pukeberg Table Lamp.

This design dates back to 1960 and is made from original tins from the Pukeberg Glass Factory. The lamp is made from matt opal glass and stands at 30cm tall.

It costs just over £213 plus shipping costs from the Scandinavian Design Center.

You can tell that caravans are cool again by the spate of books on the subject, including this Caravan Cookbook by Monica Rivron.

The book contains recipes for simple, but tasty meals, as well as guidance on what essentials to bring along from home.

The book is available from Amazon, priced £8.46.

Original 1960's Scooter from nanadobbie

Show_image_in_imgtag.php

Small children whizzing across the pavement are a pretty ubiquitous sight just about anywhere in the UK these days, thanks to the current scooter revival.

This old-school original 1960's chrome scooter has oodles of charm compared to it's modern-day plastic counterparts. It's painted light brown with metallic detailing and even has a name - the "Radio Flyer". It's suitable for an older child or a teenager - sadly not a fully grown adult.

The scooter costs £65 from mid-century treasure trove nanadobbie - either from their London store or online here.

Monaco hanging chair

Add some sixties style to your outdoor space with this Monaco hanging chair, from Next

There seems to have been quite a few of these cropping up on the high street recently (compare it to the Cora hanging chair from BHS for example), meaning it's becoming easier to pick up one at a reasonable price. This particular model is not the most deluxe model - it's made from rattan and it's self assembly - but it does give you the look at a high street price.

That price? The chair costs £399.

Pineapple Wall Sconce from Caravan

Posted: 17 May 2011 03:44 AM PDT

  Shop_pineapple2

We've featured quite a few pineapple inspired home accessories and this Wall Sconce from Shoreditch boutique Caravan is unlikely to be the last thanks to the kitsch appeal of this tropical fruit.

The pineapple takes centre stage, flanked on either side with an elegant candle holder. The metallic brass finish is particularly well set off by the turquoise candles pictured above. Measuring a substantial 52cm x 42cm x 15cm it would make a great feature for a retro lounge or hallway.

The Wall Sconce is yours for £89 - if you can't make it to the shop then you can buy it here.
