Limited edition The Prisoner eight poster set by Piper Gates Design Posted: 16 Jun 2011 11:51 AM PDT We have featured both Piper Gates Design and its artwork for The Prisoner before, but this is something worth mentioning - a set of eight posters featuring The Prisoner, the sets limited to a run of 50. As you can (or might remember), the artwork is a mix of The Prisoner and vintage Penguin books, combining to create something eye-catching and retro. This particular set features eight designs on posters measuring 30 x 40cm, printed on high quality 200 gram paper and in those limited numbers. 1960s Gubi Semi pendant light by Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup Posted: 16 Jun 2011 06:44 AM PDT A Danish classic from 1967 is back on the market, specifically the Gubi Semi pendant light by Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup. An award-winning design back on the day, the lamp still looks futuristic today, as well as still being very practical - the shape of the enamelled metal shade and the silver light bulb within combine to 'give the light a unique spread in the room'. The book by Judith Kerr is one of our personal favourites and not only a gift for those under 10. The V&A also has a wide selection of other childhood classics including, Mog the Forgetful Cat and other feline favourites. BT Tower IV by Stefi Orazi Posted: 16 Jun 2011 02:33 AM PDT Stefi Orazi is no stranger to this site and neither will be the architectural icon in her latest print: BT Tower IV. While other variants on the print have shown the tower at night, in the day and even using glow-in-the-dark ink, this is possibly its glitziest incarnation yet - printed with metallic foil. Stefi has also stated it'll be the last in this series so, if you've previously missed out, we advise snapping up one of the 100 in the edition now.  The print costs £85.  Buy it from Things You Can Buy

Flora Dora - textile designs from the 1950s and 60s Posted: 16 Jun 2011 02:32 AM PDT Flora Dora is a new online shop selling the rediscovered textile designs of Shelia Bownas, dating from the 1950s and 60s. Chelsea Cefai bought the archive containing over 200 designs of Shelia Bownas at auction and has since been working to bring them to a wider market. The store, Flora Dora, begins with two collections: the above print, 'Pip' is from the 1963 collection and is available as a print and over the page is 'Rosa' from the 1959 collection which is available as cotton drill.  The whole archive dates from the 1940s to the 1980s so look out for more designs to come.  Prints are priced at £58 each while the fabric is priced at £55 at metre. Verner Panton Kitchen Storage Jars Posted: 16 Jun 2011 02:32 AM PDT   Menu launched its Verner Panton Geometri homeware range back in 2008 and have beengradually adding more products, the latest being Kitchen Storage Jars. The jars, available in either 0.75 litre or 1.5 litre volume, combine Panton's icon pattern with Permille Vea's award-winning ceramic designs. The jars are made from porcelain with silicone lids and are suitable for storing tea, coffee, sugar or just about anything else. The smaller jar cost £24 and the large £35 from Panik Design.

Iannone Design Wooly Media Cabinet Posted: 16 Jun 2011 02:32 AM PDT   Iannone Design is a Philadelphia based design/build firm dedicated to the creation of eco-friendly furniture. One of their newest products is this Wooly Media Cabinet. It has all the right environmental credentials, but what I like about it is its quirky design, a style that would fit with either a midcentury or shabby chic style. It features a flip down front on the left compartment whilst the right side has two drawers. It is available in two lengths: 60 inches or 70 inches, costing $2,195 (£1,350) and $2,400 (£1,480). 2Modern will ship it free within the USA, but also offer worldwide shipping (which may cancel out the eco-friendliness as well as bumping up the price).

Topping that list so far is the Etch A Sketch iPad case, but giving it a run for its money is this handmade wooden Retro TV iPad dock at Etsy. A lovely piece of design that apes a vintage TV, it has been made to custom fit an iPad or iPad 2 and should look just the part if you happen to be watching iPlayer or 4OD on your tablet.Not sure how practical it would be for more general use, but who cares...its looks great.
