For sale: 1960s L R Barlow-designed five-bedroomed house in Haywards Heath, Sussex

Built back in 1963, this L R Barlow-designed five-bedroomed house in Haywards Heath, Sussex is a wonderful midcentury modern property that still maintains much of its original character.

Designed for the architect's own family, the house uses glass heavily fir the front and back elevations, so we're talking light throughout. There's also a largely unspoilt exterior and an interior that generally sticks to the original look - the windows, doors and flooring all look original, as does the staircase and some of the light fittings.

Hay2

According to the agent, the house is designed 'with the family in mind', offering a 'bright' entrance hall leading to a lounge/dining room, modern kitchen/breakfast room with a utility room to the side and a study room. Elsewhere on the ground floor there is an annexe comprising of a studio room with kitchenette and a separate shower room.

Hay3

On the first floor there is a master bedroom with en-suite dressing room and bathroom. There are four further bedrooms and a family bathroom. The bedrooms on the rear elevation also have access to the balcony terrace. Gardens outside, as well as a double garage with a large driveway to the front.

All of that for around £700,000.

Fc

Switch into autumn happily with this French Connection silk vest top.

Sadly the summer seems like it's almost over but don't despair - French Connection is at hand to make you feel better with this beautiful silk vest top. The top comes in four different colours but we love this mustard brown which would fit perfectly well with some straight-legged jeans. This 1970s-inspired top is good for layering but can be worn without anything on top for a night out. The silk is very soft and lovely on your skin and it's the perfect item to banish bad weather blues.

Superstar

Another reissue of the Adidas Superstar, with this going by the name of the Adidas Superstar LUX trainers.

It's essentially the same 1980s trainer, with this old school classic still packing that distinctive shell toe, but getting more of a premium finish than the standard issue. That means premium nu-buck uppers and premium contrasting leather 3-stripes, as well as limited numbers.

Premium also means more expensive than the standard too, £95 is the price.

eBay watch: 1970 Fiat 500L

Fiat1

We know you love these - and this 1970 Fiat 500L is something of a gem.

Four previous owners and just 57,000 on the clock, as well as being in good  original condition. It's not one of those overly-renovated models, which is perhaps part of its charm. That and the price tag anyway.

Fiat2

Talking of the condition, the seller claims that is 'very nice', just clearing an MOT and 'starts first time every time'. It's also had new brakes, pipes, shoes, wheel cylinders, master / hand brake cables, new shocks and the tyres are 'almost new'.

The seller claims it could benefit from a respray, but aside from that, it sounds like a good runaround with potential to do more. Right now, the price is £1,021.

Prices range from £1,881 up to £3,683 from Espacio.

It costs £291.71 from the Scandinavian Design Center.
