Upcycled Glass Milk Bottle Jugs

Posted: 28 Aug 2011 12:05 PM PDT

Bottle

Pedlars did something like this a couple of years back. If you missed out then, check out these new Upcycled Glass Milk Bottle Jugs.

The ones we saw in the past were essentially milk bottles, but this variation is actually a new shape, each one hand crafted and manipulated using 'the highest levels of glass-making skills' at a small family-run glassworks in Devon.

The jugs used were originally picture bottles from the 1980s, so availability is going to be limited. If you want, the three designs above are all available, each selling for £19.95.

Adidas SL72 trainers reissued in three new colourways

Sl1

A regular reissue from Adidas, the SL72 trainers are back once more, with three new colours to choose from for this vintage running shoe.

Sl2

The shoe, as you probably know, was designed for the track of the 1972 Munich Olympics, but these days is better suited as lightweight casual wear rather than a pro sports shoe.

Those three colours, all pictured here, are yellow and black, a two tone blue and a grey and white combo. All are replicas of the original shoe though, with a side and fabric upper, slimline shape, tonal lace guard and  the running shoe sole.

£55 is the price for each pair.

eBay watch: 1950s Frank Guille Trimma cabinet for Kandya

Trimma

I know we tend to focus on eBay items with very low starting prices, but this 1950s Frank Guille Trimma cabinet for Kandya is well worth flagging up, even at the higher price.

Not that it's out of the question expensive, if you get it around the starting price, it's a great deal. For your money, you get a classic midcentury design that dates from 1956 and a practical one too, great for storing your retro finds (as the seller is going here with some tasty ceramics) over those shelves, drawers and cupboards.

Condition is described as being 'wonderful', although the formica top has a 'weeny dent in the bottom corner', but it's described as barely noticeable and is photographed on the listing. If you want it, £349 is the price.

The Beatles get a Haircut limited edition screenprint by Pete McKee

Posted: 28 Aug 2011 09:52 AM PDT

Beatles

Interesting see Pete McKee's rise and rise, with his work now regularly appearing in exhibitions and indeed, rising in price. His latest exhibition is Great Moments in Popular Music at Snap Galleries, Piccadilly Arcade in London, with one of the works on display is this The Beatles get a Haircut limited edition screenprint by Pete McKee, which you can pre-order now.

The exhibition consists of 26 original original paintings and 10 ink sketches, and features a diverse range of musicians from blues legend Robert Johnson onwards. This one, of course, is The Beatles' transition from 'from rockers to mockers', courtesy of a trip to the barbers.

It is made in a limited edition of 75, each one signed and numbered on the front under the image area and printed onto on 50x70cm (19x27 inch) paper. The launch price is £395.

John Lewis modernist-style Penelope Task Lamp

Pen

We've featured a few of the Kaiser idell modernist reissue lamps of late, but even the smallest of the range is a bit hefty in price. So thank goodness for the John Lewis Penelope Task Lamp.

It's very much the same 1920s Bauhaus look, but with a much cheaper price. For that smaller pile of cash, you get a choice of colours for the metal shade and base, with a curved stem in what looks like chrome, as well as a chunk button.

£40 is that affordable price.
