eBay watch: Seth Thomas vintage sunburst clock

Posted: 01 Sep 2011 07:23 AM PDT

Sunburst

It's an instantly recognisable design, although a lot of these clocks were made in the mid-to-late 20th century. This one is the Seth Thomas vintage sunburst clock, which is up on eBay right now.

This one looks a good example though. It has a maker's name for a start, which is always a good start. It also has the look, a mix of teak and brass covering a diameter of 26cm.

Condition is described as 'very good working' and the price right now is £4.99.

Kidrobot's All City Breakers - collectable old school hip hop figures

Posted: 01 Sep 2011 06:20 AM PDT

Remember we all used to collect football stickers, blindly buying them on the off-chance of getting the ones we wanted? That all stopped when we grew up. Although there is now an adult equivalent - Kidrobot's All City Breakers.

The principle is much the same, albeit with footie exchanged for old school hip hop. Yes, the first series of All City Breakers celebrates the best breaks and moves from the original hip hop dancers. Each set is individually foil-wrapped and sold blind, so you never know which set you are getting. Each packet will contain one b-boy and b-girl though, with a move frozen in plastic, not unlike old toy soldiers, along with a matching boombox.

Four colours to choose from - pink, green orange and blue, with all scheduled for release from September 15. They'll retail for £1.70 each. Presumably the large 'box' container is sold separately.

Marimekko In Good Company Tableware Range

Posted: 01 Sep 2011 04:58 AM PDT

In good company
The In Good Company range is a brand new offering from Scandinavian design stalwarts Marimekko.

While adhering to the renowned brand's signature style of clean, 60s inspired design, the new range is a little more subdued than the famous poppies print. The simple contemporary circular pattern is available in mix & match pieces in black and white and shades of turquoise. A particular highlight of the new range is the Cathrineholm-influenced teapot, which would make an ideal centrepiece at any modernist tea party.

The In Good Company range starts from £9.25 and is available from Heals online or in store.

Adidas London trainers get a reissue in brown suede

Posted: 01 Sep 2011 04:34 AM PDT

London

We have seen a number of reissues of the Adidas London trainers. Sme would argue too many, while others will point to the fact that it should only come in the original red. Saying all that, this latest issue in a chocolate brown suede is still an eye-catching shoe.

The new design is much the same as all the other Adidas London City Series reissues, with that brown suede upper matched up with orange stripes and detailing and a chocolate brown sole.

£57 is the price.

Bold & Noble Live off the Land Print

Posted: 01 Sep 2011 04:00 AM PDT

Full1
This Live off the Land print is a design by Bold & Noble, whose work we've featured in the past.

Like many of their other designs, it centres on vintage style typography and in this case, an old-fashioned, but still relevant slogan. Here the antique lettering is covered with climbing plants and flowers, appropriate to its green living motto. The print is available in either yellow moss (shown here) or warm grey, both sold unframed and priced £43.

Buy directly from the Bold & Noble website.

Inhabit Carousel Graphic Pillow

770-[69]-l

You may know the name Inhabit from their iconic chair cushions, but just as worthy of a place on your sofa are their graphic designs such as this Carousel Pillow.

The pattern is a 1950s style design, reminiscent of some of the Sanderson prints, although not as ubiquitous. The design is available in three colour options: Chocolate and Sunshine (orange, lime and white on a brown background), Sunflower and Chocolate (brown, orange and white on a yellow background) or Sunshine (brown, lime and white on an orange background). As well as the eye-catching design, another point in this cushion's favour is its environmental credentials – the fabrics are derived from certified recycled post-consumer waste and all paper from the printing process is shredded and repurposed as packing material.

The cushions cost £65.95 each from Dennis and McGregor.
