Grisly Car Crash Caught On Video | Speedy Driver Crashes Into Bridge At Over 100mph

Posted: 25 Aug 2010 11:18 AM PDT

I’ve covered hundreds, possibly thousands of videos here on WebTVHub over the years. And some of them show something happening which isn’t pleasant to the eye. This video is clearly part of that group.

However, while watching a car slam into a bridge at 100mph isn’t pleasant, this crash is so amazing it begs to be watched. Which is a strange quandary for your brain to contend with.

I have no idea whether the driver of this car survived, but I sadly doubt it. If he did then I suspect he’ll have more respect for life and more respect for the speed limit while driving as well.

Not only does this make me not want to watch any more videos for the rest of the day, it makes me want to avoid getting in a car for the rest of the year. Whether I’m driving or not, it’s scary to think about what could happen if it all went wrong.

Miss Philippines Venus Raj Video | Confusing Answer Given During Miss Universe Contest

Posted: 25 Aug 2010 05:17 AM PDT

It’s one thing to look good, but quite another to speak well and show intelligence. If the 2010 Miss Universe contest was judged purely on beauty then Miss Philippines may have won. Sadly for her, talking sense is also essential.

Those of us who aren’t very good looking, and I include myself here, don’t (can’t) know what it’s like to live a life where you don’t have to worry about nurturing your personality and intelligence. I guess it must be easy to revert to relying on your looks all the time.

The problem is this means that on the odd occasion (and Miss Universe is definitely an odd occasion) when someone does pose a question in your direction, you’ll struggle to answer it, no matter how simple it may appear to others.

Miss Philippines Venus Raj ended up in fourth place, with Miss Mexico taking the crown. How much did this messed-up answer have to do with the poor final placing? I’d guess quite a bit.

“127 Hours” Movie Preview Video | Oscar Winner Danny Boyle Brings Aron Rolston’s Life to Big Screen

Posted: 24 Aug 2010 11:10 PM PDT

After Slumdog Millionaire scooped last year’s Academy Awards, we were all keen to see what Danny Boyle would do next. Now we have our answer, with the release of the trailer to his new flick 127 Hours.

The movie tells the real life story of Aron Ralston, a mountain climber played by James Franco who must go to extraordinary lengths to survive. You might remember hearing about this guy amputating his own arm when a boulder crushed it. We’re talking about serious stuff.

The story should be compelling enough to sell tickets, so it's a shame the people behind the preview tried to promote this on Boyle’s back catalog. Every movie will eventually need to stand on its own merits anyway, so why not now?

We’ll get to make up our own minds when 127 Hours hits American theaters on November 5.

Lenny Kravitz Crashes Church Choir (Video) | A Perfectly Random Performance

Posted: 24 Aug 2010 09:07 PM PDT

Those that say “Rock ‘n Roll is dead” only need to look to impromptu performances to find where the “real rock” is these days. I’m a fan of The White Stripes simply because they can show up to a nothing town an play in a bowling alley or on a tug boat for kicks.

Lenny Kravitz, who hasn’t had much “street cred” in the past, finally gets down with a church choir for no reason other than to rock out!

The Voice of Praise Choir from First Baptist Church in Lewisville definitely won’t forget this performance. When Lenny hears his song being covered by them, he gets up from taking a drink and walks over to them to join in.

Sure, he’s known for his soulful vocals, but I never knew that Lenny could actually pay drums until I saw this clip. And as for the kid on the guitar- I seriously think he has a shot at being a real rockstar!

Watch India Develop $35 Tablet PC News Video | Totally Affordable Laptop?

Buying a laptop could be a lot cheaper in the future as India announces its first $35 laptop complete with wi-fi, touch screen and more.

No doubt the software will shoot the price of this laptop up in a hurry, but it does give a symbol of hope to those who couldn’t hope to afford technology before.

Not only that; a laptop coming at such a price is bound to be very light and thus easy to transport.

It remains to be seen, though, if this will be any real competition against the netbooks and iPads of the world.

Let’s hope it is.

Watch Homeland Security ‘FAST’ Program Screen for Pre-Crime Video | Real Life Minority Report

Posted: 24 Aug 2010 07:17 PM PDT

Minority Report is becoming more fact than fantasy with the F.A.S.T. program being developed by the Department of Homeland Security.

Future Attribute Screening Technologies – formerly known as ‘Project Hostile Intent’ – is bringing the realm of detecting pre-crime to life.

“We’re still very early on in this research, but it is looking very promising,” says spokesman John Verrico. “We are running at about 78% accuracy on mal-intent detection, and 80% on deception.”

With those kind of numbers to work with, you can be sure that this kind of detection system will be coming soon rather than some time far off in the future.

Fat Cat Unimpressed by Birthday Celebrations Video | Kitty Humiliated at Party

Posted: 24 Aug 2010 04:14 PM PDT

The owners of this fat cat are thrilled that he’s reached another birthday milestone. The kitty, on the other hand, is clearly not amused.

He sits seething while they sing “Happy Birthday,” and shows even less interest in blowing out his candles. Not even an inch of the enthusiasm of his adoring owners rubs off on this surly sour puss.

But I can’t really blame him. He's sitting there dressed like Dilbert, smothered by human traditions on his special day.
What about handing the cat a nice juicy fillet of salmon and a bowl of warm milk instead? Surely he’d appreciate that more than this disaster of a party!
