Ken Mehlman Comes Out As Gay Video | Bill Maher Told Larry King He Was Back In 2006 Posted: 26 Aug 2010 09:06 AM PDT Don’t you just hate hypocrisy. Don’t you just hate people who put political ambitions above what is right and proper. Don’t you just hate people who say one thing while doing something else? If so then you’ll probably hate Ken Mehlman. Mehlman has come out as gay. Good for him. I’m glad he’s realized who he is and felt able to admit it in public. However, his coming out is somewhat overshadowed by the fact that he spent years helping to keep gay people down. As chairman of the Republican National Committee and campaign manager for the Bush/Cheney 2004 election campaign, Mehlman was publicly advocating anti-gay policies. And yet he’s gay himself. This appears to have been an open secret in Washington, and Bill Maher outed Mehlman on Larry King Live in 2006. It took another four years for the man to finally realize he’s been kidding himself for decades. What a tool.

Recently, Dr. Laura Schlessinger quit radio and told Larry King why she quit. Jon Stewart on The Daily Show doesn’t quite buy her excuse…

Dr. Laura always speaks her mind, but this one got her in hot water. I don’t think she quit so much as she was given a choice of either quitting or something worse.

At this point… I think she could have handled the question better. As someone whose job is giving advice, she could have been a lot more empathetic to the woman calling.

And I don’t think this has anything to do with her freedom of speech so much as her capacity for being offensive to a caller seeking her help.
