Xbox 360 Kinect Review Video | IGN Takes A Look At Microsoft’s Motion-Control System

Posted: 04 Nov 2010 10:06 AM PDT

In case you haven’t heard, Kinect has been released today in the U.S. But is the Xbox 360 motion-control system actually any good?

Kinect is Microsoft’s answer to the Nintendo Wii. It turns your whole body into a games controller, with various party games allowing you and your family to play the Xbox with your limbs rather than buttons.

This video shows a review from IGN, with the system and some of the games available from at launch given a thorough testing.

The reviews have been mildly positive at best. Most agree that Kinect has lots of potential but it’s being let down by both technical limits and the lack of a must-have game.

If you have an Xbox 360, $150 to spare, and a desire to play games with your body then why not. Otherwise, I’d stick to your Wii until Kinect is improved and some decent games arrive for it.

Street Performers Around the Word Sing “Stand By Me” Video | Amazing Buskers Playing for Change

We might all speak different languages, have different faiths, and different colored skin, but music is one of those rare things that unites us. Few videos make that point as beautifully as this one.

It shows street performers from around the world coming together to sing the Ben E. King soul classic, “Stand By Me.”

This clip comes from the documentary Playing for Change: Peace Through Music. As you watch it, you start to believe that perhaps its lofty goal is possible.

And even if you are skeptical, it’s impossible not to appreciate the music of these talented performers from all corners of the globe.

Watch World’s Greasiest Sandwich Ever Video | The Angry French Canadian

Just when you thought you were hungry, you watched this video.

Where there are food artists, there are also food graffitti artists like this who will do things simply because they can.

Okay. I confess! I’d try a bite. Bacon and cheese is yum. French bread is yum. Chips (French fries) are yum – especially with gravy. Putting the maple syrup on would just make it an adventure.

Then after that bite, I would go on a strict diet for six weeks just to burn off the calories from that one bite. *shudder*

I’m sure this isn’t the more epic sandwich out there, though… Have anything better?

Watch Obama Admit Democrats Took a Shellacking in 2010 US Elections News Video

If nothing else, United States President Barack Obama is certainly willing to admit when the people aren’t quite with him and when the Democrats take a ’shellacking’.

Well, that’s certainly a mild way to put it as many United States citizens changed how they felt about their more local political leaders and took a big swing toward the Republicans.

This is an unfortunate move (well, depending on how you look at it) because it will make putting policy through more difficult. That, in turn, will make it look like Obama is doing even less.

Despite this, the President seems to be in fairly good spirits.

Jon Stewart’s Sanity Song Video | Auto-Tune The News At The Rally To Restore Sanity

Posted: 03 Nov 2010 12:51 PM PDT

This past weekend saw another political rally hit Washington DC, this one just days before America went to the polls for the midterm elections.

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert were at the heart of this rally, and this video shows Stewart’s closing speech in a new and interesting manner.

The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear was a Comedy central effort to try and reclaim the middle ground of politics, after the other rallies suggested everyone belonged to the two extremes.

It was a huge success, particularly online, and this video is one of the most-viewed aspects of the whole rallies. It’s an interpretation of Stewart’s closing comments as transformed by Auto-Tune The News.
