A bizarre light fitting. with eight chromes shades, each 24cm long, each with cables that can be adjusted to about 135cm each (or much less). It's pretty much perfect for a 70s or space age house or pad, a talking point as well as functional lighting. Just make sure you get a professional to set it up. Price? Minimoderns festival rug Posted: 03 Mar 2011 06:56 AM PST Towards the end of last year, we showed you Minimoderns' fabulous festival wallpaper, a quirky design inspired by the Festival of Britain. If you were a fan of that design but have run out of surfaces to paper, take a look at their festival rug.  It's the same great design transferred onto a hand-tufted rug. You may want to consider investing in this Tropical leaf salad serveware from Heal's.  A piece of kitsch, this green acrylic set comprises a large plate or a salad bowl and servers, both in the shape of a large tropical leaf. God Save the Queen Cushion Posted: 03 Mar 2011 04:17 AM PST   Rockett St George have come over all monarchist thinking about the upcoming royal nuptials when they are promoting the latest Barbara Coupe design, but her God Save the Queen cushion, could just as easily be a reference to the old punk song. The cushion is made from jute hessian, giving it a coarse and decidedly not regal texture, with the slogan hand printed across it in a rather DIY looking font. It is stuffed with a duck feather cushion pad and measures 48 cm by 32 cm. The cushion costs £46 from Rockett St George.

Luckily for you, a book has just been published by the V&A showing that very thing - The Day of the Peacock: Style for Men 1963-73 by Geoffrey Aquilina Ross. Geoffrey Aquilina Ross was the men's editor for Vogue in the 1960s and in this book, he recalls the era's most dashing figures, including Tommy Nutter, Mick Jagger and Patrick Lichfield, as well as discussing iconic shops and tailors such as Granny takes a Trip, Blades, Hung on You and Mr Fish. Christopher Breward's introduction throws in some social and cultural context too. Packed with colour illustrations too (150 in total), the hardback book is available now, with Amazon discounting it to £19.99. If you're into vintage clobber, it looks like a must-buy.
