[New post] Batman: The Dark Knight Rises teaser poster revealed

Batman: The Dark Knight Rises teaser poster revealed

The third (and final?) installment from Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale entitled the Dark Knight Rises has been steeped in rumor and speculation. Viral videos featuring an outbreak from Arkham Asylum have been debunked. Images of Thomas Hardy as Bane are mostly shot in shadow... and from behind. Discreet camera shots of Bale and co-star Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle offer up no clues to her feline alter-ego.

Fans are going crazy with anticipation.

Written by David Goyer (the Blade trilogy, Batman Begins, Dark Knight), the third Batman film reunites Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Michael Kane as Alfred Pennyworth and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox and introduces new villains Bane (played by Thomas Hardy) and Selina Kyle aka Catwoman (played by the unlikely Anne Hathaway).

Apparently the movie will be the final note in Nolan and Goyer's trilogy:
"Without getting into specifics, the key thing that makes the third film a great possibility for us is that we want to finish our story. And in viewing it as the finishing of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story... I'm very excited about the end of the film, the conclusion, and what we've done with the characters. My brother has come up with some pretty exciting stuff. Unlike the comics, these things don't go on forever in film and viewing it as a story with an end is useful. Viewing it as an ending, that sets you very much on the right track about the appropriate conclusion and the essence of what tale we're telling. And it hearkens back to that priority of trying to find the reality in these fantastic stories. (source- collider.com)"

Nolan has also confirmed several facts that have bothered fans. There will not be an appearance by the Joker using a new actor or 'cut footage' from the Dark Knight. R'as Al Ghul will be featured as a young man in flashback and possibly training Bane using the technology and sorcery of the League of Shadows.

Additionally, the Dark Knight Rises will not be filmed for 3-D release but will include many sequences specially created for digital IMAX screens.

Word on the net is that a Superman shield logo has been hidden in the flying debris, but personally I don't see it.

Batman: The Dark Knight Rises will be released July 20, 2012.
