eBay watch: Gladlyn Ware midcentury-style planter Posted: 10 Nov 2011 09:16 AM PST Quite like this, not least because the Gladlyn Ware midcentury-style planter has a bit of age to it. It's a stylish item too, probably from the 1960s (but could be '50s), with screw-fit tapered legs and wood that's been given a coating of natural oil to improve its look. The metal fittings have suffered through the elements over the years, but that just adds a bit more character. It stands around 50cm tall with the legs and is currently at £8.37. Wooden Stacking Robots Posted: 10 Nov 2011 08:40 AM PST Retro robots are great at anytime of the year, but as Christmas nears it gives us an excuse to buy something like these Wooden Stacking Robots, whether for a child or as an early present to ourselves. Each box contains nine wooden robots, painted red, yellow, blue, green and one in black. The idea is to stack them up in different figurations, following examples provided or making up your own displays. The idea is based on a classic 1930s toy Bill Ding Balancing Clowns.
